Will My old Motherboard Support USB 3.0 ?

Question

Sir,
"I have been using an intel DG965RY board with a core-2-duo processor for quite a long time. The copying speeds on new external hard drives are terrible. Do i need to upgrade the whole setup to support USB 3.0? I have a gaming laptop at present so that i just need something to get my typing works going on.."

Thanks
Deepak Dongre

Dear Deepak,
This is quite an old motherboard. around 6 years old to be precise.

Yes it can support USB 3.0 with the add on pci card which you can get cheaply on ebay, amazon or flipkart.
It roughly costs 1200 Indian rupees and can go on with any motherboard supporting pci slots
