After the introduction of waterproof phone sony xperia z, many compained to SONY international that the waterproof sony xperia z was really waterproof but not that much shatterproof. Within days of release, images showing edge breakage and tip cutting off due to a fall was reported. This was a major setback in the sales of sony xperia z eventhough it was worth the price. SONY badly wanted to correct themselves. Sony xperia z ULTRA is the result of the improvement they made. This smartphone, tagged under code names C6802,C6806,C6833 is to hit markets on july.

Let us see what all are the features incorporated into new ultra-z.

NETWORK

This device supports all versions in 2G and 3G networks, namely 850,900,1700,1800,1900,2100, you name it. The 4G network support is splitted into 2 models, namely the C6806 and C6833. The C6806 supports LTE 700,850,900,1700,1900,2100,2600 while C6833 supports LTE 800,1800 in excess. The SIM support is for micro sim only. One with a mini SIM needs a SIM cutter modeule to adapt his existing SIM to be shaped into a micro sim.

BODY

The device is 7.06*3.63*0.26 (inches) in dimension. It weighs a 212 grams. It is dust and water proof like xperia z, with IP58 certification. It is water resistant to 1 meter and lasts 30 minutes before water breaks the seal.

DISPLAY

As expected,the device comes with a 16M capacitive touchscreen featuring 6.4 inch display area and with a resolution of 1080*1920 (yes full HD), and of an amazing 344 ppi pixel density for amazing experience. The device screen also supports 16 million colours and multitouch upto 10 fingers. The added in feature comes now, shatter proof and scratch resistant glass. Also featuring 'triluminous' display.

SOUND

Basic vibration,alert tones, and MP3 prebuilt ringtones are basic alert systems. There is an incorporated water proof loudspeaker.a 3.5mm jack is also provided for hearing music in external speakers/headset.

MEMMORY

The device supports micro SD cards upto 64GB and internal memmory is 16GB. Thats awesome. The device also features 2GB of dedicated RAM for trouble free operation.

DATA

GPRS, EDGE and HSDPA are supported. HSDPA upto 42Mbps and HSUPA upto 5.8Mbps are supported. The wireless support is dual band and it also function as a wi-Fi hotspot. It has version 4 bluetooth technology and a micro USB port to share data with your device on the go.

CAMERA

The primary camera is of 8MP and one should have expected atleast 12MP camera with such a nice smartphone. The camera has features such as geeo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, image stabilization, HDR and sweep panorama.It also supports 1080p video recording at 30fps and have video stabilization and HDR.The secondary camera is 2MP and also supports 1080p video recording which provides excellent video calling detail

The device currently runs 4.2 android jellybean and soon one should see 4.3 on it.The CPU is a quad core 2.2GHZ krait running on a qualcomm MSM8274 chipset or called as the snapdragon 800. It is also powered by adreno 330 for excellent graphic rendering. The device also has many built in sensors like the accelerometer,gyro,proximity and compass. It also supports HTML5. Java MIDP emulator support is also well appreciated.

Asus Google Nexus 7 Full Phone Specifications

Our wait is atlast over. The first android phone hit markets with android 4.3. Yes i am speaking about asus google partnership, the nexus 7 as they name it. This phone as per the requirements of the user are available in two variants namely with operator support and without operator support. Yes you guessed right. with and without SIM/cellular network support. This phone, announced recently july 24th 2013, is expected to hit markets this coming 30th july 2013. This is the venture of aus in the nexus series. The phone as roumered seems to be the first to run on android 4.3. Android 4.3 has been made available to all nexus devices worldwide on 25/6/2013.

This phone has a lot of difference from the previous nexus 7, and can be easily spot on. Let us check what all features have been integrated into Asus-Google-Nexus-7.

NETWORK

This phone supports all networks namely 2G,3G,4G LTE and the bands supported are 850,900,1800,1900 and all other versions in GSM and 850,900,1700,1900,2100 in HSDPA ie; 3G mode and LTE 800,850,1700,1800,1900,2100,2600 in 4G LTE mode. The SIM supported is only micro-SIM and one needs a SIM cutter which can adapt one's existing mini-SIM to be able to used as micro-SIM. With Wi-Fi and netwrok support, the device is apt for daily usage for professionals.

BODY

The Big device is 7.87*4.49*0.34 in size (inches) . The weight without case is 290grams. Thats a little more than quarter kilo. The approximate 7 inch tablet is wonderful in resolution too.

DISPLAY

The Asus Nexus 7 is featuring with an LED backlit IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen which supports 16 million colours. The display region is 1200*1920 pixels in size. The main attraction is that, this device has a 323ppi pixel density in the 7 inch screen which is really wonderful, which enables it like the display quality such as in smaller smartphones. The multitouch feature can support upto 10 fingers. Thats amazing, one can use it for enormous gaming and typing/blogging too. The screen is protected by corning gorilla glass. The version of Gorilla glass is not specified. But we expect atleast Gorilla 2 to be present.

SOUND

The loudspeaker incorporated is stereo type and it also have a 3.5mm jack slot to plug into external speakers or headphones.

MEMMORY

The phone doesnt support external memmory cards. This has a 16/32GB variant present and asian countries maybe getting the 16GB variant. The device like the neus 4 is powered with an enormous 2GB ram for lag free operation.

DATA

The device supports, GPRS,EDGE,HSDPA and LTE. Wireless dual band is also supported. Wi-Fi tethering is not allowed though. It is incorporated with latest bluetooth version, V4.0 and it helps in data transfer at blazing speeds. It also has NFC support, and a Micro USB-(SLIM) slot is provided for wired data transfer

CAMERA

The primary camera is 5MP and it supports features like geo-tagging, autofocus, face-detection. It also can record video frames 1080p at 30frames per second. The secondary camera for video calling is a 1.2Mp one.

The tablet is powered by a quad core 1.5ghz krait CPU and it runs on a Qualcomm snapdragon s4 pro chipset. It runs, as discussed earlier, the latest version of android, android 4.3. The device is also powered by adreno 320 for excellent graphics rendering. It has inbuilt sensors such as accelerometer,gyrometer,proximity etc..It has push-mail support and also supports HTML5.The device is also enabled true GPS. It can also support wireless charging,provided with accesories such as wireless charging backplate and cover adapter.

Nokia Lumia 625 Full Phone Specifications

The Nokia Lumia 625 is a tweaked version fixing all the problems in nokia lumia 620 which was lauched ealier this year. This cure round edged phone is expected to hit markets in september 2013. This was announced by Nokia India on July. The phone featuring windows operating system may replace lumia 620. No official words are out about this. We had seen problems of lag and hanging up on lumia 620, While lumia 720 and 520 were perfect Gems.

Though the specifications are somewhat similar to that of lumia 620 as Nokia has only cared to remove problems that Lumia 620 faced. But lets look into the detailed specifications.

NETWORK

The Nokia lumia 625 supports all networks namely 2G,3G,4G LTE. The bands supported are 850,900,1800,1900 in GSM mode and HSDPA 850,900,2100 in 3G mode, LTE 800,1800,2600 in 4G mode.The SIM architecture is micro SIM. One with an existing mini sim has to adapt it into micro sim by using a SIM cutter, which cuts the mini SIM to micro SIM size. Nokia announced it has fixed all range drop problems experienced in Lumia 620. Hope this is true.

BODY

The Nokia Lumia 625 is 5.25*2.85*0.36 IN SIZE (inches). The smartphone weighs 159 grams. This is little more, but no problem for user as mere 30grams cant be felt.

DISPLAY

The phone features an LCD capacitive touchscreen and the screen supports 16 million colour shades. The screen is 480*800 in size. approximately 4.7 inches and has a negotiable 199ppi pixel density. a little bit low, but adjustable. The phone supports multitouch and it is protected from scratches by the corning gorilla 2. We expected gorrilla 3. But nokia didnt update it. Hope they have a reason for doing so. Maybe cost cutting.

SOUND

The phone is equipped with default WAV ringtones and the user is provided an option to customize it and use their Mp3 in place of the ringtone. The phone also has a built in loudspeaker and has a 3.5mm jack for audio playback to external devices or headphone.

MEMMORY

The phone supports micro-sd external cards upto 64GB capacity. The main catch is that it also has an internal 8GB for installing applications (around 4.5GB usable). The phone is equipped with a 512MB ram. We expected atleast 1GB ram for smoother operation.

DATA

The phone also provides backward compatibility to GPRS and EDGE users. It also supports HSDPA upto 42.2 Mbps and HSUPA upto 5.76Mbps. This is a wonderful move which pushes this device well ahead of smartphones in the same range which offer just 12.2Mbps maximum support. The phone also supports Wi-Fi and also it works as a Wi-Fi hotspot and can function as a tethering device/repeater .The latest version of bluetooth v4.0 is integrated for lightning fast data transfer between devices. It also has a micro-USB v2.0 support to directly transfer data from your pc.

CAMERA

The primary camera is a little low laying 5MP and supports 2592*1936 resolution. It has an integrated autofocus, LED flash and Geo tagging and touch focus. The video recording is at 30 frames on 1080p mode. The secondary camera is also a mere VGA which makes the smartphone a Uncomplete package

FEATURES

The other features the phone has are the latest windows 8 OS, dual core krait @ 1.2GHZ and a GPU (1dreno 305) for basic graphic needs. The phone is also equipped with sensors like accelerometer,proximity and compass. The browser supports HTML 5 too.It also has an inbuilt radio. The GPS enabled smartphone supports GLONASS too.

AMD 5GHZ Processor Is it Worth The money?

AMD launched 5GHZ 8 core unlocked model recently. Being an AMD enthusiast, i was amazed by this move by AMD. Earlier many HOAX came out like the CPU was meant to be available only to Full PC builders/ Brands like Dell, LG, Hp etc..This then proved to be a lie, as the CPUs were shown available on almost all US stores. This made us wonderstruck. Why sell a 5GHZ processor out to compete with intel?. We very well know that the 'hyperthreading' patended by intel can pull anther 55% off a CPU which is pulling AMD back mainly these days. This is the reason why a 8 true core processor couldnt beat the 6 core 12 threaded intel extreme processor. Then AMD again tries to compete with intel by releasing a revised clocked up vishera. Really? What did you think AMD?

INTEL's strategy is pretty clear. Next they would launch a 8 core 16 threaded processor haswell-E series and all that overclocking may go in vain AMD. I am sad to say this, but the leaked details off INTEL die shop has proved the plans of INTEL.

Power Used

The main problem holding back AMD is its power usage. Intel Haswell-E has an expected 140W TDP at load while vishera 9590 has a TDP of 220W. 80W more power usage means more current bill. For that extra current you use every hour, you could spend for an INTEL processor.

Clock-UP

The tweaked up clock 5GHZ can generate enormous heat. We have seen heat issues with AMD 8350 4GHZ with air cooling. Even a powerful noctua/coolermaster double tower couldnt lower the heat much. So that means you desperately need an excellent water cooling system for CPU. Unless we become clear whats inside the AMD processor box, we cant be sure. Unless its a bundled Water cooling, one would go straightly for an intel i7-4770 processor.

Motherboard support

All new AM3+ platform board must be released to sustain the enormous 220W TDP as the maximum TDP supported is 150W by an AMD supported board. This would also come with a premium price than regular boards. maybe around 100$ more. This may give INTEL an advantage where even a 60$ motherboard can run a i7-4770 processor (4core-8 thread)

Performance

Yes, the clocks up would give an advantage to AMD. But none says about overclocking INTEL. An overclocked intel i7-4770 would deliver more perfromance than Stock 5GHZ AMD.

I said i7-4770 processor. Expect what a stock i7-8 core haswell would deliver...

Reliability

From my experience, how much hot a CPU runs, the reliability goes down. For example, as tudy conducted by 'pure-pc' showed clearly that a stock cpu can last more than an overclocked CPU.

And for people who care about reliability, this news is hell. AMD always has been our partner since they were found reliable than INTEL, where INTEL cpu performance has gone down in years, But AMD stood strong.

Overall Rating

We could only give it a 4/5 rating, as the sources say that pricetag of CPU alone maybe 900$. Yeah that is a rough 54,000 INR. For that price, one could get their hands on 2.Yeah TWO!! bundle Intel i7-4770+motherboard

How To Fix DNS Server Issues Hard Way

Lets see the Hard way now. DNS errors are those errors happening due to non rendering/resolving the website namesevers on request. This can happen from a new ISP to Top level ISP. This can also happen because of underwater oceanic cable faults and so on.

The Hard way is to log-in to your modem and changing the servers inside.

Type 192.168.1.1 on your addressbar (can vary with modem regions-also 192.168.0.1 for some models)
a login window appears
username:admin
password:admin
Now you will be logged into the modem
Click on 'ADVANCED SETTINGS' on left side menu
It will now expand and select 'DNS servers' option.

Choose to enter DNS Ip manually
enter any pair

GOOGLE

primary :8.8.4.4
secondary:8.8.8.8

OPEN DNS

primary:208.67.222.222
secondary:208.67.220.220
Click 'SAVE' .('SAVE and REBOOT for older models')

Your DNS is changed. Voila. Now your websites should load smoothly and fast.Anytime you can change DNS so there is no issue.

How To Fix Internet Response Problems and DNS Server Errors

Have you come across situations when you cant browse fastly around webpages and every now and then your browser returns an error page? This error happens because your default DNS servers cant render the page you are requesting.

What is a DNS server and what is meant by resolving?

All websites we browse, for eg www.google.com are stored as IP addresses in the DNS database and how fast this name request can be turned to IP address by your DNS servers determines your internet browsing speed.

This process of turning names to IP are called as resolving (laymans terms)

How to spot and fix DNS errors?

If your browsing turns extremely annoying with half loaded webpages, never ever responding loading bars and specific site loading issues, then you are a victim of DNS error.

There are 2 fixes. Let me explain easy method here

This involves editing your network connection (lan connection) protocol and wifi connection protocol in case of wifi users.

Goto control panel.
Open 'Network and sharing center' .
On left side top, click on 'adapter settings'. You can see such a window

Find your network adapter (in case of wired connections it should be 'LOCAL AREA CONNECTION' or 'ETHERNET' and in case of wireless connections it should be 'WIRELESS NETWORK ADAPTER'

Right click the adapter and click 'properties'

select TCP/IP (v4) and click properties

You can see a window as below.

Change the button selection to Use the following ip address and use the following DNS address
Enter the following in it
Ip address:192.168.1.3 (last value can be any value 2-255)
Subnet mask:just click on this section, you can see it appearing automatically
Default gateway-192.168.1.1
Primary DNS and secondary DNS
You can choose from any pair below

Open DNS

Primary 208.67.222.222
secondary 208.67.220.220

Google DNS

primary:8.8.4.4
secondary 8.8.8.8
Click on OK and you are done. Change DNS agin if you are facing the problem in future.

Htc one mini is a miniature version of the legend Htc one. The mini version is for enthusiasts who want it to be smaller and around almost similar to the specs of htc one and importantly, to fit in pocket. The miniature version of HTC one has a downgraded processor, but its enough for smooth and efficient operation. Htc one mini looks exactly same as its father.

HTC one was announced by HTC on July 2013 and is expected to hit markets on august 2013. This device shares a micro-sim architecture and one needs to have a sim-cutter device to adapt his mini-sim to micro sim and to use with this device. The features are somewhat similar to its predecessor. But differs in performance segment. The device is available worldwide in 3 different models. They are EMEA version, ASIA and AT&T version. Lets peek into the features this device offers to the users.

HTC one mini is superior in network support. This device supports all the available modes. the device also have backward compatibility to 2G,3G and 4G modes. The bands supported in 2G are 850,900,1800,1900. The bands supported in 3G mode are HSDPA 900,1900,2100. It also has Beats audio enhancement and has a 3.5 mm jack support. This shows HTC plans on being a threat to music edition smartphones of SONY.

MEMMORY

Despite of having a memmory card slot, the phone is equipped with a 16GB internal storage (12GB usable). The smartphone also has a 1GB ram for quick application launch. One should have expected a 2GB but 1GB does the operation perfectly fine, HTC says.

HTC one mini has GPRS EDGE and HSPA support. Alas it doesnt have wifi-tethering support. The phone supports dual-band wifi though for boosted internet surfing. The phone is equipped with a version 4.0 bluetooth for superfast data transfer across phones.

The camera disappoints again. A trick to make people go and buy the full version. Its a mere 4.0 MP camera. The secondary camera is of decent 1.6 MP though. It has 1080p @ 30fps video recording. But expect nothing from a 4MP camera eventhough HD capable. We would atleast expect a 8MP from HTC. The camera has added features like tag on and smile and face detections.

The other features of this miniature version are, a 4.2.2 HTC sense firmware and a dual core karait clocked at 1.4GHZ working on a qualcomm snapdragon chipset. The phone is equipped with adreno 305 and one would have expected a decent one from HTC. It has accelerometer,gyro,proximity and compass included. It supports HTML 5 and has GPS with GLONASS support.

BATTERY

It is equipped with a non removable 1800mah battery Li-ion. It provides a sweet 20hr talktime on 4G. The non removable battery maybe a burden later as with low RAM the phone is prone to LAG and Freezes.

Motorola Moto X Full Phone Specifications

The motorola Moto X is the device from motorola which runs google android (stock) 4.2.2 .This device which is expected to be a killer in price is expected to arrive on final qaurter of 2013 and announcements may happen anytime from august 2013.This device, being powered by the stock android is expected to show miracles to the people waiting. Motorola has carefully integrated all features and taken special care to put each component a little ahead of the competitors specs. Consider the CPU for example. where every device offers a 1.5ghz krait version, motorola has taken special care enough to power up 0.2ghz more on the version its using in moto-x, yes a 1.7ghz CPU which is as fast as a tweaked OS running 4 core smartphone.

The motorola company faced many problems while switching from its java platform phones l6,l7,l9 etc to standard multitouch phones. They have tried almost everything. At last they come up with stock android. Will it work for them? Wait and see till Q4 2013. Lets meanwhile see the specs of moto-x

Motorola moto x is expected to have support for all bands available including 2G,3G and 4G-LTE.The modes/bands supported are GSM 850, 900,1800,1900. 3G support is limited to HSDPA only. 4G support has not been revealed officialy. LTE support is announced.

DISPLAY

As expected, motorola moved from resistive touch and stylus to more friendly capacitive screen with 16M colour support. The screen is of 4.7 inch width (diagonally measured) with a decent 312 ppi density. But SAD...the display is not full HD capable. as motorola offers just 720*1280 pixels. There is also multitouch support announced for motorola moto-x 2013.

SOUND

The phone is equipped with regular WAV ringtones with mp3 switch support, and also supports MP3 and MP4 formats.It is also equipped with loudspeaker, and an integrated 3.5mm jack slot. But with previous experiences with motorola, one can expect excellet sound than any other smartphone relesed till date.

MEMMORY

The phone has an internal 16GB memmory (12GB approx usable) and an external slot with support upto 32GB memmory cards (micro sd). The phone is also equipped with enormous 2GB memory for LAG-free operation. We saw earlier what a good memmory can do in LAG free operation -Nexus 4 Q1 2013

This is where motorola did an amazing study and heck, even latest phones with half lack pricetag have 8Mp camera. Motorola has intelligently integrated a 10Mp camera and this could add a lot to the value. The secondary camera for voice calls can deliver upto 2 Mp (1.9approx) and is pretty decent in current scenario. The primary camera is capable of recorind in 1080p with 30 frames and serves as a pocket HD cam.

The other features bundled to motorola moto-x are,an android 4.2.2 google stock OS and Qualcomm MSM 8960 chipset. The CPU bundled is a dual-core krait and t has an astonishing clock of 1.7GHZ to blast the response delivered. It also has an adreno 320 graphics processor for gaming and lag free HD playback. It also has sensors namely accelerometer, proximity and compass. The phone also has GPS support with GLONASS.

BATTERY

The expected backup is around 20hours on 4G. Motorola may come up with a powerful battery so as to fullfill the power requirements of overclocked krait (1.7GHZ). atleast a 3000mah battery is essential
